About Us

Egg Press is a letterpress greeting card company, founded and owned by Tess Darrow in Portland, Oregon. Our designs are thoughtfully created through the lens of analog printmaking. We believe letter writing is a valuable practice which keeps people connected.

We love our planet, let’s take care of her together.

We feel it’s our duty as a paper company to be committed to sustainability. We collaborate with our factory and materials partners to build short and long term goals to minimize our footprint.

Our letterpress greeting cards are designed intentionally to reduce waste and are printed on FSC certified, 30% post-consumer waste paper and paired with 100% recycled paper envelopes.

All products from our retail website now come without plastic packaging!

Write Letters, strengthen and forge relationships.

We believe that letter writing is a key tool for connecting with friends and neighbors - no matter how far away they are. Each year we host Write_On, a letter writing campaign encouraging our community to build the habit of letter writing into their daily lives.

We love to share cards with the community!

Here are a few organizations we work with:

Oregon Justice Resource Center

The organization's networks to help over 150,000 incarcerated people and their families in Oregon, Washington, and California stay in touch by writing each other letters of support, encouragement, love, and holiday celebration.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels has been guided by a single goal since the first known U.S. delivery by a small group of Philadelphia citizens in 1954 – to support our senior neighbors to extend their independence and health as they age. We worked directly in Portland and donated our greeting cards to encourage writing during the Covid pandemic.

Boredom Busters

Our mission is to help kids and teens burdened with lengthy hospital stays pass the time by providing useful and fun items like phone chargers, ball caps to cover scars, games to play with family and friends, playing cards, anti-slip socks, high quality toothbrushes,  and more.  It's a nice array of items that really can help a patient and their family feel better about their hospital stay. Egg Press donates cards in order to give someone a way to send a card during an extended stay.
