New Egg Press and Social Preparedness Kit Styles!

 Egg Press Letterpress Cards

Our team recently returned from The National Stationery Show in NY where they debuted many fresh new styles which are in store NOW!

The designs in this release are vivid and colorful. Our designers Tess and Kara continue to be inspired by their travels (Tess was recently in Guatemala and Kara in Mexico City) where they’ve been soaking up some vibrant colors and fun patterns.

The latest Social Preparedness Kit designs are still clean and modern but those too have been given an extra shot of fun: there’s a new pouch style with exuberant patterns and a new notebook with edge painted pages in an acid yellow to contrast with the navy blue cover. Surprise!

Texture and dimension! More die-cut styles + mixed media balloon cards. We’re still having fun with metallics now that we have foil printing capabilities but are also exploring colored foils which create a really cool texture -- you get that familiar letterpress imprint but instead of the ink-on-paper texture you get this slick and slightly reflective surface.

Our “Shape Study” cards are a new direction for us. Modern and unisex Everyday cards.

Egg Press Introduces GOODS FOR GOOD

We're very happy to announce a new collection of products which we're calling GOODS FOR GOOD -- 100% of the proceeds of these styles are donated to organizations that are fighting for all people's rights.

                  lady liberty political postcard

Our Lady Liberty postcard design comes from "The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World", that ultimate symbol of friendship, freedom, hope, and democracy. All proceeds are donated to ACLU. While we designed this card after receiving requests for a blank political postcard, we've dreamed up other times you might want to use it...

5 occasions to use the Lady Liberty Card:

                  1. To welcome a recent immigrant to the US.
                  2. To tell a penpal the thing you love most about your country.
                  3. To wish a friend a great NY vacation.
                  4. To thank an elected official or other influencer for fighting for the rights of everyone.
                  5. To remind your representatives to advocate for the things that are important to you.

The Eyes are on You line features a letterpress postcard set, t-shirt, and organic cotton tote bag, screenprinted in our own studio. All proceeds from these styles are donated to Planned Parenthood.

The GOODS FOR GOOD styles are limited release so once they're gone they're gone! New products to follow!

                  Custom Letterpress Wedding Suite

Custom wedding suite designed by MKM design, printed by Egg Press.

You know it when you see it and when you touch it. The historic printing method of letterpress remains the preferred method of printing wedding invites because it's the most expressive. It's the only way to create the distinctive effect that is both crisp and sharp, yet unique from piece to piece. The resulting pieces are beautiful and tactile -- a keepsake rather than a throwaway.

We're so excited to share this magical process with lucky brides and grooms and are offering a 20% discount on all custom wedding printing, on orders placed through March 31st, 2017. In addition to letterpress we also have the ability to do die-cutting, foil stamping, and edge painting.

Browse our gallery of custom printing, and then fill out our online quote form to get started. This discount is good on any wedding-related orders from the elaborate wedding suite of your dreams to the ceremony programs, table numbers, and thank you cards. Design fees are not included in this promo.

                  Egg Press and Kiriko

For our latest Social Preparedness Kit release we have launched 6 new card designs and 3 new card kits in collaboration with Kiriko. This has been like a dream come true for indigo and traditional Japanese textile lovers like us! The overall patterns are inspired by traditional Katazome patterns, a resist process that employs all-over designs. The result is rich and beautiful but totally modern. They're also totally unisex making them a great choice for men who need an all-purpose blank card.

                  Write_On 2016 Event Recap + Pop-up Shop

                  Posted on

On March 31, 2016 Schoolhouse Electric opened their beautiful showroom doors to host the second annual Write_On kickoff event with Egg Press in Portland. We invited hundreds of our closest friends and supporters to join us for an evening of letter-writing and merriment to launch 2016’s Write_On Challenge of writing 30 letters in 30 days during the month of April, National Letterwriting Month.

Each guest received a complimentary Write_On card kit that includes six letterpress cards and matching envelopes,  a sheet of Strathmore Writing paper and envelope, and a Sakura of America Gelly Roll Pen, courtesy of Write_On founders Egg Press and Hello!Lucky, and its 2016 partners, Sakura of America, Mohawk Paper and Chronicle Books.

DJ Aquaman set the mood by spinning groove and funk-inspired vinyl, Union Wine Company provided beverages, QUIN Candy served up some extra sweet treats, we had lovely light bites from Elephant's Delicatessen, and it was nothing short of magical to see so many people gathered in one space writing letters, sharing stories, pinning flags on the Living Installation to mark where their letters were being sent, and witnessing mass handwritten correspondence in action.

We LOVED the fact that people brought their own tools to get creative and make their letters extra-special. There were stickers, calligraphy pens, photos, paints and paintbrushes, and even a wax seal! We set up a video booth to capture stories of letters written and received, and how they’ve impacted folks through time and history (we’ll share this piece with you soon!), and to take things up a notch, Schoolhouse offered a rare in-store discount for shoppers, and had three fabulous giveaways of their coveted showroom items, including a pendant lamp. We had a giveaway of our own that included various Egg Press cards, lots of awesome swag from our noteworthy friends of Write_On, and a collection of exclusive soft goods that are for sale this month during the Egg Press pop-up shop in Schoolhouse’s showroom.

Be sure to visit the Schoolhouse showroom to pick up some fun and one-of-a-kind items before April 30!

This memorable evening was one for the books, and another reminder of how wonderful it is to experience Write_On becoming a cultural movement. By turning Write_On into a nonprofit cause in 2016 to continue promoting joy, creativity, expression, and connection through handwritten correspondence in even more communities, we feel thankful and grateful that our efforts are being so well-received. We have the best community ever, and appreciate your support so much!
